Something similar to what people use when setting the appearance/description of their character. Something that can be easily observed without looking too deep into it such as, as you mentioned, mechanical integrity.

 

Could use it to describe a messy interior, bumper stickers, FOR SALE signs, gunshot holes, specific branding, and anything else people can come up with.

I don't like having furniture slots limited; especially since a lot of interiors are bugged and require some extensive work to be able to look half decent. Please do not limit furniture slots behind a paywall. 

 

Please do not restrict clothing items. That's silly.

 

Character slots would be an appropriate benefit for donating.

Absolutely. Now, if you took a hoodie with you and maybe a change of pants, put it in your car. You can open your trunk, remove your top, remove your bottom, take out a top and a bottom individually, and then put on your new clothes. That works fine.
