  1. Why are championship fights happening in some slum gym in the middle of South Central when there are active casinos? The problem isn't the lack of active or unique businesses but that most business owners have no idea as to what they're trying to portray. Travelling to Las Venturas a few nights per week to pay $5k on the door, have some level 2 spam /dice, and then leave 10 minutes later is not conducive to maintaining a good standard of roleplay in 2024. When Talarum, Burger, et al. started up The Visage it was an event to go to the casino, not just because there was more to do than /dice blackjack but because they deliberately set out to establish a particular standard of roleplay from end to end. Restaurant. Hotel. Spa. All fully staffed by capable roleplayers that had been trained IC prior to the opening and meticulously organised. It was a monumental effort whose own lofty goals contributed to its sporadic openings and the logistical nightmare that comes with trying to arrange anything on SA-MP a week ahead of time but that made each opening all the more special. I just don't bother going to 90% of /cad openings anymore. The same stale bartender roleplay. The same brick shithouse robocop bouncers. Some completely out of place garbage blaring over XM radio. When business owners stop using businesses as a way to make easy cash through the stupid and archaic entry fee script and actually start caring about what it is they're trying to do, I will bless them with my custom.
  2. David Fincher called. He wants his kino back.
  3. Don't take this as admin-bashing because it's not (well, mostly) but what's going through your staff's minds when they kick somebody for subpar English? These players aren't logging off for a study session on Rosetta Stone: they are fundamentally unable to grasp the language. Unless you're going to open up a server-sponsored ESL school, they're just going to come back and continue dragging down the standard of roleplay with incompetence. I understand that they're only a fraction of the non-RP problem but it's still a prominent issue that needs to be addressed if overall standards are expected to return to previous levels.
  4. What, no festering bottles of piss? Poser.
  5. These kinds of open-ended wishing well threads were always a mixed bag on the "old" LS-RP but they'd never fail to bring some interesting ideas to the surface, especially from members of the community that might otherwise not engage with development. We're here to look towards the future of the community: Mmartin and company have been more than open about their willingness to let us help shape it so let's make the most of it. Constructive critique of one another is fine but try to provide at least one original idea per post. It might provide an interesting jumping-off point for a suggestion thread.
