Black Organized Crime

Black Organized Crime in modern day Los Angeles is decentralized - heavily rooted in prison networks, streetgangs, and out of state DTO's using the city as their stomping grounds.

Our faction hosts a wide variety of characters to accurately reflect this.

Great attention is placed on fostering long-running storylines that tie every person in the faction together, as well as offer depth to each individual one's portrayal.

Membership is open to both new and pre-established African-American characters, queries about joining should be sent to @boris1 or @Iamkaciii @Gnarp.

Scenario summaryAfter the wild night of September 8, the one that saw Onika, Ornell, Black and the crew caught up in a police raid — an operation that ended in nothing — things seemed to water down . The LSSD/PD tried cracking down on the Sampson St. Crew, but they ended up making not a single arrest, and seizing not a single weapon. It's said that Onika led them away while Iceman & co. made a smooth escape. The following day, though, Nika would dive back into her studies: business models, internet schemes, digital hustles — anything that could turn into real net worth. After a smoke break Nika gives the heads up to Ornell "Iceman" Yards about people in their circle still stashing up assets in the area where SD almost caught them lacking. What started to be a chill day turned into something real grimy.

Criminologists named an effect after him known as the "Felix Mitchell Paradox"[10]—whereby after a major successful police operation (like the arrest of Mitchell) crime and violence both went up instead of down as one might expect. It is thought that Felix had such monopoly power in parts of Oakland that he controlled pricing and policed the violence of smaller gangs. When he was arrested it left a power vacuum and the smaller gangs started both price wars and shooting wars to fill the void.

Scenario summary:  Onika Maharaj and Ornell “Iceman” Yards — a figure who can be seen as a mentor — are two opposing personalities, although they follow the same god (by walking different paths). Onika, though street-smart, doesn’t have the heart or the mindset to stay out on the streets and take part in the soldier-type activities that would be expected of her. During her time in Iceman’s crew, Onika has always harbored an interest (and above all a need) to base her plays on other aspects of street life — something that would match her skills. Thanks to the advice of her best friend, Nyell Portell, Nika decides to flip the gameplan she was offered and start doing things her way: she dusts off the knowledge that suits her best — the Internet. Onika wants to build income streams through platforms set up on encrypted networks: dark web, metanet. The idea is to create a connection between her products and services (drugs, weapons, fake IDs, forged gun licenses) to reinvest in her own, legit business. The shooting down in Santa Maria just sped up the process, leaving Onika yet again emotionally scarred and helpless.
