Sheriff Walters Will Not Seek Re-Election | 25/FEB/2025

LOS SANTOS — Sheriff Ricardo Walters has announced he will not seek re-election, formally marking an end to his law enforce career on March 15th, 2025.

Walters, who was elected Sheriff after serving as Assistant Sheriff with oversight of patrol and investigative operations, entered the office at a time of deep internal turbulence. His tenure saw persistent staffing shortages, high-pressure shakeups, and significant command turnover, some departures voluntary, others the result of firm disciplinary action.

In a brief statement, Walters said, "It was an honor to serve as the 24th Sheriff of Los Santos County, but it was never about the position. I've done my part, and I wish the next Sheriff the very best."
