Sylvia's Father. Chuck Gardell Character summary.

Las Barrancas, Tierra Robada

 

The Eighties lingered too long in the Las Barrancas RV Park, The novelty of the Hoover Dam, along with the Casinos and exploitation of Native Americans meant the Gardell Family never really managed to get their share of the lavish opulent wealth and excess poured apon the High rollers of nearby Las Venturas.  This was the backdrop for his childhood, he was given the freedom from an early age to explore this landscape, and it was in doing this that he learned to use his reasoning and judgement to stay safe.

Seldom lonely, he never hesitated in interacting with the locals, most of whom themselves were in the tourism business, catering to the visitors  to this spectacular landscape of natural and man made monoliths. His childish games nurtured a natural instinctive eagerness to learn, often encouraging his peers to share in his vision, many of the friendships he developed lasted  all through high School, and also tertiary education. He made his parents proud, and was active in the community and especially the Scouting movement, showing leadership  and dedication to giving the younger generation a head start in the social ans practical skills they would need in adulthood.

 

He met and fell in love with the Daughter of a Rancher, who appealed to him in familiar ways, eventually blessing them their Beautiful Daughter Silvia, by far the best part of both of them, and the focus of their lives from then on.   Eventually  Chuck and Sylvias mother parted ways in pursuit of different Goals, but they hhave remained close and available to spend time with their daughter..

This was am era before terms over-used today like 'Depression' amd Anxiety, mental health. The way he dealt with it was to live with his parents, and Eat.

 

Eventually, He left the nest, maybe a little late, found himself in Los Santos.. He applied for a job at the Port of East Beach, and first impressions were not good.

 

The way he behaved, people assumed he was an idiot.

 

 

As time went by management came to realise that in fact he was, and I quote "a pretty stand up guy"

 

as his self confidence grew, his appetite diminished, and what on the surface might have appeared to be mindless repetition allowd him some comforts.

Side note:  lately he's been spending time giving back to the community in his own small way, maybe seeking out people who need some guidance or a trip to sharkeys for a crate of drinks.

 

Yes thats right. a crate .. of drinks.
