Stellaris

I'm basically obsessed with all things Paradox, and although Stellaris has one of the steepest learning curves I've ever seen, it's well worth it once you get into it.

 

They don't get it right all the time and some of the updates seem a bit insane - often majorly changing the gameplay and not always for the better. Even so, this game is so in-depth and addictive.

 

Often I play as a standard fanatic purifier out to destroy everyone else; who has time for diplomacy when you can just purge everyone? The new "become the crisis" option is great fun too.
