After 61 years of loyal service to the people of Jackson and Liberty City, Levy, Bell & Weinstein have finally opened up shop on the sunny shores of Los Santos.

LB&W was founded in 1963 in Jackson, Mississippi as Mortimer, Goldstein, and Katz. The bulk of their work in their early years was related to civil suits in Mississippi courts related to matters of Civil Rights. 

LB&W is proud to have been one of the first all white law firms to be endorsed by the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People. Adjusted for inflation, MG&K offered approximately $14 million worth of free legal aid in the form of pro-bono work to African Americans in Mississippi during the movement.

Throughout the 70s and early 80s the firm experienced rapid growth. Soon, we became too big for our humble southern roots, and opened up a new office in Liberty City.

As the country changed, our portfolio changed with it. In 1970, civil rights suits made up for 88% of the MG&K caseload. By 1989, high-profile divorce settlements, intellectual property suits, hostile takeovers, and lawsuits against law enforcement agencies made up the bulk of our work.

The firm gained international recognition, and for some, disgust, when we represented FIZZ! in their defence against celebrity heiress Cloe Parker. 

Cloe Parker sued FIZZ! for $18 million in damages after they published a story about her engaging in sexual acts in the bathroom of a nightclub in Algonquin, LC. Parker claimed the story was a violation of her privacy, and a salacious story of no journalistic value that was only intended to smear her. The judge found in favour of the defence, setting a precedent that celebrities do not have a greater right to privacy than anyone else, and it is up to the public to decide if something is newsworthy or not.

The first chair in the case, Naomi Shoshana Weinstein, was promoted to partner as a result of the success, turning Levy, Bell & Edelstein into Levy, Bell, Edelstein & Weinstein. Edelstein passed away 18 months later. Weinstein later said in an interview that taking the case was the greatest regret of her career. The firm has since enacted a policy to never accept right wing media companies as clients.

Levy, Bell and Weinstein are one of the only law firms in the world with a commitment to humanitarianism embedded in it’s foundations. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Fund is a ring-fenced budget dedicated to serving those of lesser means and from low-income households. Levy, Bell and Weinstein will represent you completely free of charge. 

 

Use of the fund is handled on a case-by-case basis to provide pro-bono work to selected eligible clients. Clients must have a case that is in alignment with the values of the fund, and must be able to prove their financial circumstances. ((Less than 100k in /stats))

Levy built his reputation in The Exchange neighbourhood of Liberty City. His ruthlessness and shamelessness in deliberations of hostile takeovers and mergers made him a feared but admired litigator. This cuthroat and often reckless attiude earned him the nickname "King Solomon", a reference to the bible story where two mothers came to King Solomon both claiming to be the mother of a baby boy. King Solomon said that he would cut the baby in half and give each mother a piece. The false mother said she would accept this judgement, whereas the real one begged Solomon to spare the boy's life and just give him to the other mother. 

 

In this instance, the baby would be any company with a market cap over $500,000,000, and the real mother would be the ousted CEOs who accept Levy's insulting settlements.

With all the charm of a Southern boy, and all the legal prowess of a Supreme Court Justice, Napoleon Bell is possibly the country's best courtroom performer. His ability to persuade judges and juries is unparalled. Despite his messy appearance, once he steps inside the courtroom he is as graceful as a ballerina. He has won all of his cases bar one, when he chose to represent himself in his divorce proceedings. His ex-wife, Belinda Bell, walked away with the lion's share of his hard-earned estate, leaving him with close to nothing.

 

Napoleon Bell is a partner, and head of the Criminal & Appeals side of the firm.

Naomi Shoshana Weinstein came to prominence as first chair in the Cloe Parker v. FIZZ! lawsuit. She saved the media company $18 million and subsequently became the darling child of right wing media companies across the country. Since then she has tried to reinvent her image and distance herself from the ghouls of the American fourth estate.
