The Insane Crips (IC), also known as the Insane Crips Gang (ICG), are the largest African-American street gang based on the East Side of Long Beach, California. Primarily located in Central Long Beach, the gang originated around 21st Street and Lewis Avenue, eventually expanding to surrounding neighborhoods. Affiliated with the 3x Trays alliance, the Insane Crips are known for wearing Oakland Raiders (formerly Los Angeles Raiders) apparel, with black and gray as their signature colors. A subgroup known as the Baby Insane clique is distinguished by their use of Cleveland Indians apparel and is known for adopting red as their primary color. This includes accurate representations of real-life gang affiliations, terminology, and behavioral norms, with a focus on immersive and respectful storytelling. This approach is designed not to glorify criminal activity, but to provide a realistic framework that respects the complexity of urban life, identity, and socio-political environments in historically marginalized communities.
