Wah Ching — also known as Dub C’z, meaning “Chinese youth” — is a significant Chinese gang with roots in San Fierro's Chinatown prior to expansion into Southern Los Santos. Hell Side is a youthful Wah Ching set or "side" whos namesake stems from the fact that the LS Wah Ching bring the crime rate far higher in Los Santos - where the set originated - moreso than their peers in San Fierro. This is what lead to this set of Wah Ching being regarded to as "Hell Side". Their criminal activities have included extortion, drug trafficking, illegal gambling, prostitution, counterfeiting, fraud, and murder, often intertwined with legitimate businesses. Their reputation for violence was cemented during a bloody feud with the Asian Boyz (ABZ) in the 1990s, following the murder of ABZ member John Lee. This led to a series of retaliatory killings and violent clashes across Southern California.
As of today, the gang has shifted primarily from overt street violence to more discreet, financially driven operations, and maintains ties to international criminal networks, including Chinese triads. In light of this, law enforcement continues to view Wah Ching as a significant and organized criminal threat, especially in Asian communities throughout Southern California.
