Baba Sali
Police Raid Dismantles Fierce Protection Gang Operating Across Northern San Andreas By Tyler Hawthorne | Los Santos Times | October 5, 2025 The Los Santos Police Department’s Major Crimes Division has successfully taken down a violent extortion ring from the rural community of Tierra Robada that had been demanding “protection fees” from construction sites and small businesses across northern San Andreas. For several months, detectives from the LSPD’s northern branch conducted a covert investigation into the gang, whose members were allegedly involved in a string of intimidation campaigns and protection rackets stretching from Montgomery to Blueberry. Last month, investigators followed several gang members who left Tierra Robada in two vehicles — a black Sentinel and a white Boxville van — heading toward the Flint County region. Officers discreetly tailed the suspects until they reached a remote open area near Fort Carson. According to police, once there, the suspects unloaded an ATV from the van and drove toward a construction site on the outskirts of Las Venturas. The trio reportedly broke into the fenced compound, vandalized heavy equipment, and stole critical engine parts and tools. After the heist, the gang buried the stolen items in the desert outside Fort Carson, intending to later extort the site’s owner by offering to “help recover” the missing materials — for a hefty fee. When the suspects began returning toward Tierra Robada, detectives coordinated with tactical units for an ambush. Near the Montgomery Intersection, a command drone gave the signal, and LSPD task forces surrounded both vehicles in a swift and precise operation. Three suspects — aged 21, 22, and 31 — were arrested without resistance. Further investigation revealed that days before the raid, a man “appearing to be from the desert region” approached the construction foreman, offering paid “security services” to protect the site. When the offer was declined, the site was attacked shortly thereafter. Detectives believe this was part of a systematic effort to pressure business owners into paying for protection. The Los Santos County District Attorney’s Office announced today that formal indictments will be filed against the five suspects for extortion, criminal damage, and grand theft. Authorities say the operation marks a significant victory in the fight against organized crime networks preying on local businesses across San Andreas, particularly in Blaine County and northern Los Santos. “We’re sending a clear message — intimidation and extortion will not go unanswered,” said Detective Marcus Hall of the LSPD Major Crimes Division. “No one is above the law, no matter how remote their operations are.”
Baba Sali
Anton Blok, a Dutch anthropologist, claims the Tanakh is full of horrific stories about murder, ‘protection rackets’, and terrorism. In various texts, the leaders of the Jewish nation are compared to ‘outlaws’, ‘fugitives’, ‘bandit chiefs’, ‘gangsters’. When David escaped from King Saul, he surrounded himself with a group of 400 people, described in 1 Samuel 22.2 as ‘all those who were in distress or in debt or discontented’, and became the leader of an organized crime group, a ‘goodfella’ in exile, and ‘Godfather’ after he accessed the throne. There are analogies between the Cosa Nostra and David’s criminal organization, with David as its leader, Joab as consigliere, and an army of caporegimes and ‘soldiers’ who were all rewarded for their loyalty to their boss. Although David realized the importance of gaining the support of the local population, he did not acquire the status of a Robin Hood, despite his popularity after defeating the giant Goliath. In fact, the locals made several attempts to turn him over to King Saul. This hostile attitude may have been one of the reasons why David turned to violence, running ‘protection rackets’ and making ‘offers that one cannot refuse’. He needed to maintain his organization, and his soldiers had to eat. ‘Clients’ who dared to refuse to pay David, such as the wealthy Nabal, the husband of Abigail (who after his death became one of David’s wives), were severely punished. David also eliminated any witnesses to his criminal activities in the land of the Philistines to keep his racket a secret, which is reminiscent of the omerta principle of the mafia.
