Road to Perdition

The title "Road to Perdition" directly references the same titled film starred by Tom Hanks, portraying Michael Sullivan, who's position as an enforcer grants him wealth and respect. However, betrayal within the organization forces him onto a bloody path. Like Sullivan, Kahlil faces the painful truth: the higher he climbs, the more fleeting peace becomes. The paradise he seeks is fragile, dependent on sacrifices that leave permanent scars. Both stories wrestle with the tragedy that true freedom is unattainable in a world built on violence and manipulation. The world "perdition" refers to a state of eternal punishment and damnation into which a sinful and unpenitent person passes after death.
