SCHOOL YARD LOCOS (SYL)
School Yard Locos (SYL) is a S/S 38 Varrio clique based in El Corona, rooted in the yard of Olmos High School. The clique was founded by Gael Azul, known as Solo, an older 38 affiliate who saw potential in the neighborhood’s youth. He brought together a small group of students to form SYL, giving them purpose, protection, and a name to rep.

Adrian Pascual, aka Chippy, became the face of the clique at Olmos High, leading the younger members while balancing school life and street pressure. Most SYL members are still in school, caught between wanting a better future and surviving their environment. SYL isn’t just about gang life, it’s about loyalty, respect, and sticking together in a place where not many people have your back.
