  1. I think you guys have started off with some positive changes, regardless of the actual outcome versus desired outcome. Specifically, I think it's great you guys are attempting to correct the economy. I hope those of you on staff realize how hard it is to create a working in-game economy, to add to the difficulty, you'll never please everyone in our community. My advice is continue your trial and error approach and try new things. As long as the development team has scripted a back end function to see the total amount of money in the server, you should never have a problem tracking inflation which means you can always correct the economy. I am a bit disappointed to see that lead admin factions are being favored and given the highly desired gun scheme's. I get there could be legitimate reasons for this, but it's also about optics and keeping things above board. I think you have a lot of work to do with your script, which is completely expected. What you have released so far, is rock solid you should all be proud of that. Your phone script is SLICK. My one major hope this time around, is as a community we can try and move away from our old habits instead of bringing them here to this new era. I'm a big fan of the saying, don't fix what ain't broken, but our past community, its systems and the way players interact with the admin team can all be greatly improved upon. I hope we move away from systems that require admin permission or review for every little thing, it chokes role-play and I hope we can reinvent new systems to protect players from biased decision making. All in all, I'm here to stay and thank you for reviving role-play, it's been nostalgic being back here.
  2. Assuming OCG's and gangs will be investigated and attempted to be taken down via a RICO case like in the past, I would like to see the following; 1. Everything that is investigated and submitted as evidence against a faction of any kind, needs to have OOC proof of how it was attained IC. Screenshots is specifically what I am referring to as OOC evidence. 2. Any evidence brought forth during a take-down should be made OOCly available to an illegal factions management for review to see if they wish to report anything. This would obviously happen after the police initiate the take-down IC. The reason I am hoping to see stronger regulations/rules around take-downs is because my only real notable bad experience with LSPD in LSRP was during take-downs and evidence gathering. The amount of metagaming we found throughout our casefile was frustrating. We asked to see evidence of how LSPD knew who people where, what their "rank" was. LSPD couldn't provide any proof, just that "they knew". That's not good enough, LSPD is a very important faction and I would hope the administration, a long with LSPD leadership take a stance that if evidence gathered is not documented properly and able to be shared OOCly, I mean every single thing, then it should not count.
  3. Syncing up with California is the only thing that makes sense in my opinion.
  4. This topic has always been a heavily debated one. I'd personally like see a whole restructure and re-thinking of how the economy works in this game. Without going in to copious amounts of detail, I think the following are key in order to establish an economy that address both hyper inflation and realism; 1. Money needs to be a physical item in your inventory. It can be stored in cars, your properties etc. Anything that is on you, can be taken like any other item in game. 2. Illegal role-players need to be forced into cleaning "dirty" money via a businesses. This will prevent people from making 100k from a drug deal and then going to buy a house without any legal repercussions. You'd have a financial crimes unit in PD to deal with this, as well as a few basic scripts to allow the IC police to track this sort of thing. 3. The administration needs to take a really hard look at how money is brought into the server, in which avenues it travels from player to player and then how they plan for money to "exit" the server. Some examples of money being brought in; welfare, script jobs, etc. Some examples of money moving around; players paying employee's, illegal activities, legitimate business. Some examples of money leaving the server; taxes (sales tax, income tax, capital gains tax), police seizing assets / money because of illegal activity and destroying it. Anyone who knows anything about economics or studied this in school knows that creating a realistic economy in this type of environment will require a large amount of effort / scripting. As well as a very well thought-out plan that will require constant oversight and correction. Is it possible? For sure it is, it just depends how seriously the management team deems a realistic economy to be and how much effort they want to put in. I personally think if a realistic economy was created, this would be a huge win for role-play in general, and would draw a massive number of players to this server.
