  1. I think a job that can be easily expanded upon is the towing industry and it's uses. Vehicles should be able to break down or not start if they're not maintained properly or receive too much damage and need a lift. Depending on who's online police and fire departments should be working with these companies and their services to move vehicles around the city through contracts via the government.
  2. I think the approach like others mentioned of cannabis possession being legal up to a certain amount is a healthy start, either turning it into a medicinal market first in-game is another great option before just turning everything into a recreational market. There's a lot more behind just legalizing something for the sake of legalization, with this comes taxes and expenses for the business owner and that's what the battle has been over in the legal market till this day. I think if they're trying to venture into the legal business markets in this field the same should happen to those that choose to create a dispensary or a cultivation facility (if that ever becomes a thing). We have seen this in every place where it's been legalized, with some markets (like in California) on the brink of collapsing due to high taxes and direct competition with a flourishing black market that has deep roots and has been established for the past two decades prior with no taxes to pay. I believe if this is the approach a majority of people want to see we would need to actually have a complete overhaul of the cannabis system in terms of growing and expenses and need a good understanding of the current market that's happening in California right now since it seems a portion of people are basing it off of Los Angeles. Like in previous posts on other threads I have made specifically on cannabis I think it would need a more in depth script with it's cultivation, yield, potency and expenses for running such a operation. Some sort of electricity bill would be a cool start for this area for those cultivating indoors, legally or illegally as well as the things that may effect your crop yield and potency such as temperature control units, lighting and ballasts (which you should have to purchase as a item) as well as drying/curing methods. For those who are interested in the conversation I highly recommend watching this video to get a better understanding and see how the legal market is battling for lively hood against a machine that has been entrenched for the last two or three decades and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
  3. I think everyone can agree there's more benefits to have them in the game as an option than without them. The customization of player models always seemed very limiting when you're trying to portray someone who's old or overweight, most of the time in one way or another the models look similar even with meshing. The modding community can hopefully spice things up in this field and could get some things added into the server to combat this.
  4. I believe a thriving judicial and correctional system is paramount for either end of the spectrum and it's role to keep the server in-check and as balanced as possible. We have seen this done before and witnessed the praise it received.
  5. I think even to simplify your idea off the start and include something a little more feasible for the server in it's beginning stages is with basic maintenance such as oil changes, brake changes, tire changes and battery life (all which could be in-game items). Partially like what you were mentioning, these statistics can degrade overtime if you don't pay attention to them and if left unchecked your vehicle's engine life will degrade and eventually will not operate after a certain threshold or break down as you're driving and come to a stop, requiring a towing service to come get you to fix your vehicle. Another decent idea to get more vehicles into your shop for maintenance could be that collisions effect your overall vehicle health or engine health, if someone's too happy at the wheel they'll be in your shop more often than others. Fixing their engine may only go to a certain percentage (not 100%) and that cap continuously degrades until you need a new engine or new vehicle. This adds more complexity to your shop as well as used card dealerships trying to make a quick dollar.
  6. I think scripted items with icons (such as food and beverages like you mentioned) and even physical in-game models is something that would be a great addition for the server as a whole and could really expand on opportunities for trade, production and logistical companies that leads to creating a thriving eco-system for people venturing into the legal branch. Regarding your proposed ideas with the advertisement / blip system I think that would work efficiently as long as it's not locked behind a donator pay wall and keeps the in-game competitiveness strong and flourishing for all to take part in. Another thought, due to how hectic clubs can get when you're working the front door could be that when you're granted entry into a club after paying for the entry fee the employee has a ink stamping tool (item) with a unique ID to the business that shows you have already been cleared for entry and expires until the business closes (built in opening and closing system for businesses would be helpful). This clears confusion for the security working the doors and it could even be visible in a /examine so it makes the determination even more swift for those working.
  7. I believe ideas like this could improve the server and bring that "next generation experience" that I think people would like rather than sticking to traditional methods that require administrators for everything you wish to do as a player on the server. Not only can this cause a huge back log on administrators in-game when the server reaches peak population but this could add way more avenues for not only criminal role-players but law enforcement as well. The days of waiting for administrators and completely halting your role-play in-game to do certain activities is out dated and I would like to think most people would be on board for it if you think about the opportunities just this idea alone can bring to the table. Criminal role-players can benefit from this system heavily by creating whole new rackets dedicated to this craft but that's not the only thing that could come from this. Law enforcement could also use this system as a tool as well in high-risk arrest warrants and take downs or even hostage situations. This also has the potential to build a home security industry for entrepreneurs to venture into and make a honest living. Some ideas that are possible to introduce to the server could be so you have the option to purchase home security systems from businesses that provide it and install the devices in your home such as actual alarm systems for each entry point into interiors and once it exceeds a certain amount of time it notifies the police in real time with no pausing or delaying. Another addition that could be implemented is the amount of time it takes to break into a property, if a player has a certain item it gets them to make entry quicker whether it's by force such as a battering ram for police or a lock pick for someone trying to make a quieter entry. For the average person it could be as simple as kicking the door in that may have a chance of not working all the time and requires more attempts with obvious animations or even sounds. Ways to mitigate the spam break in problem could be to make some sort of script that only allows you to break into the property of someone who's currently online and if the server currently has enough active law enforcement on duty at that time. You also could enforce lengthy punishments for people convicted of crimes to make people think twice about committing them but that's leading into a whole other subject. The point being is just with some pondering this simple idea can create so many different opportunities and doesn't make you feel limited as to what you can or can't do as a player.
  8. I think this area could be expanded undoubtedly when it comes to drugs, there are plenty of options that they could pursue in this field. I would personally enjoy seeing the server implement some sort of cultivation system for drugs such as marijuana and shrooms to start with, this provides less administrative overhead and creates a player driven market. If that were the case I would anticipate to see some sort of lighting feature specifically tailored for their purpose of growing plants like marijuana (which could be a purchasable and furnishable item in a property) on the server that could add a completely new dynamic to the game as a whole. Here are some ideas off the top of my head that will be listed below, some being a little more in depth than others but you could always simplify them more if you wish. Having the option of purchasing two different types of lighting when it comes to growing, it's not a hard concept for a player to grasp and it creates a choice that the player must make on their own if they're in the shady business of growing marijuana. • High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting fixtures, one of the most common and affordable lights to purchase on the market however; it consumes more electricity and, making them less energy efficient and more expensive to actually use but at the same time has been proven to have increased plant yields and potency than it's competitor in the next bullet point below. • Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting fixtures are commonly used in stealth growing operations. Well known to be a discrete alternative under the watchful eyes of law enforcement; they're almost double the price than the regular (HID) lights given their newer technology but are more cost effective when it comes to power consumption, suffering at the cost of lower yields per crop. This ties into the next subject which I won't get too in depth with as it's not the main point, that being power consumption and expenses per property. If we could add some sort of regular power bill maybe that's adjusted to what the actual building is such as residential or industrial for example, maybe industrial buildings costing more in electrical payments to sustain their business? I think that would add to the uniqueness of this concept and the server as a whole. It makes people think about the decisions they have to make in order to be a successful criminal in today's world. As some people know law enforcement commonly uses people's power consumption in combination with evidence they have gathered or tips to tell if someone is growing inside of a property and actively investigate that individual's activities. This opens vast opportunities for illegal role-players and gives the player more control of what they're trying to accomplish with their operation. Should you purchase higher end lights that uses less power so you fly under the radar and can grow inside of a apartment or house with ease? Giving you more concealment and a lesser chance of being detected? Or do you buy the cheaper basic lighting that costs more on the electrical bill but in return is much more generous in yields and potency? Do you mask using those powerful lights by growing inside of a industrial facility that on paper uses more power than a house so you can hide your illegal activities from law enforcement? The scale of ideas that can come from this are immense. Other notable things that could be added into a drug system are things like potency, something that can add additional value to certain kinds of drugs. Creating more production tools to craft certain drugs such as pill pressers or cutting agents would again put the player in more control of their operation and add to the overall health of the drug economy on the server and role-play as a whole. Lastly something for the consumer end, having different forms of drug paraphernalia that are actual items such as syringes, pipes, grinders, rolling papers, bongs and vaporizers could all be the cherry on top to a refreshed drug system. It's exciting to think about the possibilities this one system alone has the potential to bring to the table, especially on a client like this.
