  1. Hi, I'm back, I'm excited to be apart of LS-RP again. Between 2014 to 2021, I was making videos mostly on LS-RP. I always found it to be the best server to express your own, personally-crafted, but at the same time challenging and dynamic, story. I have little doubt that LSRP V will be even greater than LSRP was. My YouTube channel PS. Some of you may've heard I was involved in some drama with another Rage MP server. So just to be clear: I'm not banned on any roleplay servers, but my character did get force-killed, despite me having appealed and proven to not have broken any rules. Ever since then, especially after LS-RP SAMP server shut down, I wasn't able to find a hardcore roleplay server that suits my needs AND doesn't judgementally kill characters over OOC opinion. I hope my search is over.

  3. Going to copy paste what I said on another thread I'm not sure what other systems are going to be in place for criminals to make money but wiping away one of the few easy avenues of it doesn't strike me as a great idea.

  4. Devil's advocate: marijuana being illegal opens up an avenue for criminal interaction with gangs for more role players. Even if it only amounts to street purchases, it creates activity for both parties, and at least in my opinion, these interactions are more interesting than being able to simply access it. Your average users (a good portion of OC role players, civilians, hell even off-duty cops) have no reason to buy any hard drugs, but giving them something they can role play around while maintaining proper character consistency gives them a reason to go and buy drugs. Realistically speaking, you're completely right. That being said, exploring the issue from the lens of game design offers an interesting argument, at least in my opinion. What about a medical license approach? This opens up two completely separate illegal markets (growers, illegal reselling of medicinal), would justify marijuana graphics and storefronts, and would allow some form of LSPD / LSFD(?) oversight.

  6. I think the biggest thing that needs to be ensured is to have as little involvement from staff as possible, except to ensure the smooth running of the factions or unrealistic laws aren't passed. I would say the biggest challenge that many communities face is the balance of power aspect. A faction leader of the Police Department for example shouldn't be immune and should answer to someone. Setting those pathways should be done carefully and I'd love to see more emphasis on pushing the player-ran aspect and less focus on management being involved in various aspects.

  7. lsrp can definitely compete with gta:w when it comes to civilian roleplay. there's a pretty toxic civi vs criminal discussion going on rn due to a lapse of quality in factions spiking chain robberies & crimes against the innocent. intrusive actions aren't fun when u have to encounter them whenever u hop on. a good representation and focus on illegal rp helps mitigate these issues because it becomes a lot more self governing. not to mention a lot of the civi focused features on gta:w are fluff n dont really serve a purpose other than to pad the server - people will happily go without them if it means a more immersive and fun experience there's also lot of disdain for groups like RPQ and IFM, with the general consensus being "why are noobs enforcing how i rp when they cant rp themselves"

  9. Comparing usage of VOIP between illegal factions and LEO factions is like comparing day and night, they are not the same for many reasons that have been pointed out. Our faction and LSSD have nerfed themselves continuously to strike balance between illegal factions. Usage of VOIP is the least of your concerns if our factions actually used LAPD/LASD’s equipment in situations (even without VOIP). Each side have their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, you can shoot someone in the middle of the street and get away with it if there’s no players around, regardless if there would be CCTVs, witnesses and an instant 911 call. We do not care about winning situations, VOIP is used to maintain a realistic effectiveness in character. We have done everything possible as a faction to strike a good balance: removal of boxing, heavy restrictions of assault rifles being used (there’s a member cap and you have to apply to have access to a rifle), continuously hold our faction members to a higher standard than everyone else, disallow any ramming or unrealistic vehicle interceptions, restrict the use of the less lethal shotgun, heavily encouraging officers to let small time offenders off, disengage any vehicle pursuit that includes players having a high speed vehicle rather than allowing a wild goose chase in the city, regulate the utilisation of gang injunctions heavily as it kills role-play, disallow faction takedowns, and so on. VOIP was used for everything a few years ago, now it is used during active shooting situations or vehicle pursuits (updating). Our faction supervisors are quick with telling faction members to stop talking, regardless if those people would take it personal or not, as we take this very serious. I have went into detail about moderation a few posts back. It is very easy to spot abuse, if you are aiming at someone and suddenly back up appears without anything being said in character, report it and it will be taken care of. There are logs on TeamSpeak that allow us to see who made a voice backup request globally. Just ensure the report is instant upon conclusion of the situation if there’s no admin response, rather than waiting for the next day. We do not require video evidence for everything, if you send a report we instantly jump on it and investigate it. I assume logs will be easier to access now, so game admins will be contacted if a faction member claims they used the in-game radio when in fact they used TeamSpeak. If a faction member’s story doesn’t add up and they aren’t able to explain themselves properly, we do not hesitate to issue punishments. That being said, I will kindly ask you all to move on from the VOIP discussion. An answer has been given and there is a clear difference of opinion between all parties. You are more than welcome to suggest a removal of VOIP for LEO factions to Server Management. We are interested in hearing any new ideas or suggestions that may benefit the faction and the role-play quality of the server.

  10. Donator Vehicles like Classic Exotic Cars. As you already said, we have a very wide variety of cars in GTA V, so it won't be a problem if something like 10 vehicles will be donator vehicles. More Furniture Slots: Yes More Clothing Slots: Yes but just something like 2 or 3 Namechange: Yes Numberchange: Yes Licenses Plates: No, not needed I guess. Pets: Yes More Character Slots: Maybe just one more.

  11. I'll just put this to bed, voip is heavily regulated for Leo factions and can actually be monitored. Hence why it's permitted. The examples you used such as driving and talking into a radio isn't that difficult to do as myself do it IRL. It's not PG. As for other players using it , it can't be monitored nor can't it be regulated in the manner Leo's is therefore its not permitted. Let's get back k on topic now.

  13. FACTION ADVANCEMENT Official status is decided and given by the Faction Team, it is a slow and delicate process. Official status means your faction is chosen to represent LS:RP server and to be a role model for the general community. This status comes with extra perks and responsibility. Below are some of the things that are considered for official faction; Leadership and cooperation. Strong and active leadership means stability and organization. Leadership is responsible for everything concerning their faction. Communication and cooperation between the leadership and the faction management are extremely important. Active member base and sustainability. Prove to be stable and active over time. To be considered as an active a faction must have at least 5 to 10 active members by average. The faction management needs to be able to see that a faction has it in them to stay active and consistent. Faction environment, realism, and progression. Create and provide an environment that is enjoyable for everybody to see and be around with. Be realistic to a degree, unique, and simply make sense within the world of San Andreas. Build a faction that sparks interest for it's progression. LS:RP rules, faction rules, and common sense. The ability to follow all of the rules are expected. An official faction needs to be able to set an example for the general community to look up to. Always be observant of any changes concerning factions and the server's limitations. UNOFFICIAL FACTION → VERIFIED FACTION Before applying to become a verified faction, please ensure you meet the below requirements: Must have been an unofficial faction for at least 3 months. No faction strikes in the last 3-months. At least 5 active members. VERIFIED FACTION → OFFICIAL FACTION You do not need to apply to become an official faction if you are verified. You will be considered for official status after a minimum of 3-months as a verified faction. There are a number of contributing factors whether a faction will be given official or not and there's no guarantee you will / will not receive official after 3 months. APPLICATION Please send the below application to a member of Faction Team Council.
