  1. I'm very eager to apply for DST as soon as applications are open. Though, I'd like to pose an issue to the current leadership. I've been in LSPD on another RageMP community where the environment was tiresome due to both members and leadership's obsession with simulating the LSPD. I'd spend around four hours or more in an FTP, then around another two writing reports, but that's not a huge problem, the more pressing matter was the sheer lowkey toxic peer pressure from the members and not so constructive critique. These members, although good roleplayers, would obsess over LAPD/LASD culture or niche things that weren't compatible with the IC environment, straight-out ignoring situations or roleplay opportunities because the real life counterparts wouldn't do so, or discouraging certain characters not because they weren't realistic, but because they didn't fit their perfect LAPD/LASD self-insert world where they are the main protagonists. I'm not kind to this level of micromanagement. When do we acknowledge the fact that LS is NOT simulating LA but simply a source of inspiration and portrayal? As a roleplayer I'd rather value the IC environment born from the community's roleplay. Although a wonderful roleplaying experience, it is still a game and I'd love not to feel like I'm working 9-5 for free, trying to satisfy some OCD'ing maniacs. I wouldn't call those specific players nolifers, but I'd recommend them to find something more purposeful in life, maybe touch some grass.

  2. Drug dealing/trafficking Guide for STREET GANGS Drug dealing and trafficking is one of the most popular things to get involved in when you're doing gang roleplay, but the issue begins at this specific point where people force people into drug dealing to prove themselves and treat their gang factions like its an entire Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) which is somewhat unrealistic in that sense as not everyone involved in gang politics in Los Angeles are also involved in the drug game. In fact you'd be quite surprised, a lot people want to stay away from the drug game due to the bullshit it brings with it and instead a lot of gang members resort to fraud, robberies, burglaries, etc. Now, there's a difference, in what I said as well... people normally stay away from large scaled drug ops in gangs but a pretty hefty number of people probably deal drugs on low scales such as dimebags, eighths, halves, etc. Main issue is when it comes to selling bricks and stuff, and since LS-RP has always worked with ounces; we'll use 3 or more ounces as a starter point for this then. Normally when people get involved in drugs inside of street gangs, it's selling petty amounts but deep inside normally lies a secondary foundation of big time drug dealers and trafficking (depending on the connections) within that gang. The reason I'm emphasizing this is important, because the moment you're brought into that side of the drug game a simple fuck up can land you six feet deep. Street gangs are already cutthroat to the bone as it already is, but when you involve yourself with big time drug dealers and potentially traffickers within your set then you're accepting an offer from the devil in plain sight. The reason I'm bringing this up, is because a lot of people who do large scaled drug ops inside of street gangs, tend to act like it's either the entire street gang doing it and operate like a full DTO or they ignore the realistic tensions that'd come with it. It's normally a clique inside of a gang with very few people that actually 100% know what's going on when it comes to large drug ops inside of gangs, because of how cutthroat it is and the lack of trust for people. The petty drug amounts that little homies are trapping with, probably come from big homies involved deep in the drug game and it's normally the best drug dealers that sell petty amounts that normally end up being brought inside of the gang's inner circle when it comes down to large scaled drug ops. Now I do want to say this, the drug game inside of street gangs is completely different to actual DTOs or OCGs, and tends to be a lot more grimey. Depending on if it's a Southsider gang or a African-American gang, there might not be any structure inside of the gang and the one with connections to the plugs might be the one that's "influential" at that specific time n place. This is important to remember, because if your gang has no structure and goes off of a generation structure instead of a hierarchy structure, then you could even roleplay having paranoia and trust issues with people because people can get knocked off over a female or some shit in gangs, so when it comes down to drugs it's twice if not thrice as bad as the before example. This guide might not look like your average guide, and might remind you of a mini book or something but I purposely wrote it like this so it's easier to take in everything at once. 3. Pretty simple, reply to the last question asked in the least helpful way possible then ask one yourself! Example: Why do cats hate water?

Introduction This list provides new and old players with a reference to any common terms that are used on the server for a variety of reasons. The guide will be helpful for many who are confused with abbreviated words that they not understand but can come across a lot while on the server. 2. Common Roleplay Terms 2.1 Roleplay The acting out or performance of a regular person ingame (e.g acting like regular civilian, a gangster, hispanic, african american, etc.) 2.2 In Character (IC) In Character is your character's roleplay, this is his/her actions and words being said. 2.3 Out of Character (OOC) Out of Character is when you, as a player are talking or doing actions outside of In Character actions. Examples are talking in /b (OOC chat) about topics that are not related to your In Character roleplay. 2.4 Metagaming (MG) Using information you have gotten from Out of Character ways and using it In Character. e.g Using private messages to tell your friend your character is in trouble at a certain location. 2.5 Powergaming (PG) Roleplaying unrealistic things that wouldn't happen in the real world and not allowing others to react to your roleplay. e.g a five year old carrying around a weapon, fighting a person with your fists when he is armed with a gun, throwing someone out of a car without allowing the other person to react to your actions. 2.6 Deathmatching (DM) This is when a player shoots another player for no valid In Character reasoning. If such problems occur you may make a forum report with valid proof. 2.7 Non-RP Doing things that are considered not sufficient to be considered good standard roleplay depending on the situation at hand. e.g running around a crime scene for no reason, dancing and screaming in a trollish manner in a serious situation, not roleplaying fear appropriately in situations realistically. 2.8 Namechange (NC) When a player wants to roleplay something else, they can change their character's name. This means that they are a completely different person. e.g You can namechange from "John Doe" to "David Nobody". You can namechange characters by buying a namechange for $2 or by purchasing a donator backing. 2.9 Character Kill (CK) This is when a character cannot be played by a player ever again. A character is CK'ed in many ways but the most common are either by the player requesting his character to be CK'ed or if the player has an agreement with a faction that his character can be CK'ed by the faction leaders and permitted faction members. You can namechange the character if you wish to do so. 2.10 Player Kill (PK) This is when a person is fully dead in the Player is Dead/Accepted Death mode, the character is now not able to remember any events or people relevant to the situation that caused your character to be killed. 2.11 Revenge Killing (RK) This is when a player who has fully died (or has been Player Killed) respawns and sets out to kill the person/people who have killed him. This is not allowed because as the player who has died has no recollection/memory of the event happening. 2.12 Scrolling a weapon/Ass-pulling When a player scrolls a large weapon with roleplaying taking it out. e.g Pulling an M4 from your chest without doing a /me indicating that you are now carrying the weapon in your hand. 2.13 Abuse of GTA V Physics Using GTA V's abilities to do thing that in real life are unrealistic or not do-able (e.g bunny hopping, chicken running, etc.) 2.14 Bunnyhopping (B-Hop) This is when you keep pressing the "jump" button to speed up getting from one place to another, under no circumstances is it allowed here and can result in admin punishment. 2.15 Chicken Running/Zig-zagging Self-explanatory. This is the act of running in a zig-zag manner during a shootout or another form of a confrontation. This is not allowed on the server and will result in admin punishment. 2.16 Provoking Purposely annoying/irritating players to get a reaction from them. 2.17 Car Ramming Using a vehicle to crash into people or vehicles. 2.18 Car Parking Ramming a person with a vehicle and parking the car on top of the player. 2.19 Driveby (DB) Shooting out of a vehicle as a passenger. The driver is not allowed to do so under any circumstances. Desert Eagles are not allowed to be shot in drive bys. 2.20 Brutally Wounded (BW) This is when you character is scriptwise injured after sustaining enough HP loss that your health is at zero. You will be lie on the ground until you are once again injured/shot by someone (forced into /acceptdeath) or revived by paramedics or you yourself want to fully die. (/acceptdeath) 2.21 Player is Dead / Accepted Death: This is the fully dead stage after Brutally Wounded Mode. This occurs by being injured again after being Brutally Wounded or if you decide that you want roleplay dead from your injuries, you cause use /acceptdeath. A small text saying "(( Player is Dead ))" will be on top of the player if he/she is fully dead. You must wait 60 seconds after going into this mode until you may use /respawnme to respawn. Credits: Garrity Thanks to Garrity for making this guide a while back, I only snatched it from the old forums. If you notice a common term missing, feel free to suggest below. - to be updated

  6. As mentioned above, that type of culture is not permitted within the SD. While we try to be as realistic as possible, everybody understands it's a game and we don't try to make it anything except that. We won't have people doing reports for 2+ hours like if they're in a law enforcement job in real life, and we definitely don't pressure people to roleplay how we want. The idea of trying to roleplay 1:1 with the LASD has always been stupid IMO and never gets anywhere. The LAPD/LASD fanboy mindset is just poor and just results in the game no longer being fun.

  7. None of the choices available tbh, keeping the factor of irl time zones and people living in other countries, have it so there’s 2 12 hour time cycles so everyone will be able to see both night and day time. For weather sync it to LA

  8. I mean I'll start by saying looking forward to see you interested. One thing I want to do is stop that type of behaviour, although hasn't existed here I don't want it to ever become a thing, I understand this is a game and we're here to have fun, but we need to take it seriously. A 1:1 depiction of a IRL counter part isn't always an option and we will do things differently to accommodate the V universe. We've setup our structure that what you've mentioned above, all our FTO's, Supervisory and everyone basically is here to make this as enjoyable as possible, without a toxic persona around the faction. Everything we do here is for peoples roleplay and if what we do hinders someone's roleplay then it'll be changed. If you've any concerns or anything else you want to inform me off then let me know or my command team now.

  10. Executive and Command staff stated that they want to keep it realistic, but also allow people to have fun and enjoy themselves. @jack might want to say a thing or two about that. And don't worry, we don't have that kind of mentality here. I've been on LSRPs LSSD for the past two years and I never experienced anything you mentioned above. Anyhow, the recruitment is going to open within 14 days of LSRP:V's launch, so I hope I see you there.
