Spoiler

Julia Hernandez was born in County General Hospital in East Los Santos in March 2001. She was a second-generation US citizen with her family who had recently moved to the United States and lived in El Corona. She grew a keen interest in law enforcement work from a young age after interactions with police officers within the community. However, her parents did not support the idea of making it into a career, mainly because they were from an immigrant family and did not have a good view of law enforcement at the time of tensions rising. Despite this, she sought to impress her family, show them what she was capable of, and show that not all police officers are bad people.

Julia originally applied as a Police Service Representative performing dispatcher work after graduating high school. Julia doubled down on the law enforcement career path because she wanted a sense of identity and to be a part of something bigger. Being an only child her entire life she never really had a sense of sisterhood with others. However, she wanted to get comfortable with the department and was initially nervous about applying directly to the police academy.

After three years of working in the department, she gained the confidence to apply for the police academy. It was a rough rigorous process for her. She had many setbacks, especially with her physical portion. She overcame these obstacles by training herself day and night to be the best she could be.

Julia enrolled in the Field Training Program shortly after academy graduation which led her to be the person she is today.

In the present, Julia was reassigned to the Harbor Area Gang Enforcement Detail. She works to suppress gang violence, gain intelligence on criminal organizations, and enforce laws on gang-related crimes.
